Allocating Places at HEY
Located in a state-of-the-art custom built service, our educational spaces, both indoor and out, allow for maximum engagement from children.
HEY allocates Long Day Care places in line with the following priorities of access:
- Children who are currently attending the Service
- Employee’s children
- Siblings of children who currently attend the Service
- Children at risk of serious abuse or neglect
- A child of a single parent or parents who both satisfy the Child Care Subsidy activity test
- Any other child
Within these categories priority is also given to;
a. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
b. Children with diagnosed additional needs*
*Children with diagnosed additional needs, will be enrolled, if in the opinion of management the Service can meet the child’s needs. Additional resources and funding may be required.
3 & 4 year old funded kindergarten places at HEY will be offered in accordance with the Government Priority of Access Guidelines as follows:
- Priority 1: Vulnerable Children
Included within this priority category are the following:
- Children at risk of abuse or neglect, including children in Out-of-Home Care
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children
- Asylum seeker and refugee children
- Children eligible for the Kindergarten Fee Subsidy (Including a child or parent who holds a Commonwealth Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, Veteran’s Affairs Card, or multiple birth children (triplets, quadruplets))
- Children with additional needs, defined as children who: require additional assistance in order to fully participate in the kindergarten program, require a combination of services which are individually planned, have an identified specific disability or developmental delay
- Priority 2: Any Other Child
