Classrooms
HEY provides education and care for up to 155 children per day across 9 classrooms. Our 21st Century pedagogical approach ensures that all children can develop positive dispositions for learning to realise their full potential from birth through to the transition to school.
The 9 Classrooms at HEY are all named after native Australian flowers; Royal Bluebell, Cooktown Orchid, Kangaroo Paw, Waratah, Wattle, Banksia, Rock Lily, Pink Heath and Desert Rose.
We differentiate our classrooms under two banners; Junior Early Learners and Senior Early Learners. Our Junior Early Learners consist of our youngest children, incorporating ages 4 months to 3 years. The physical and social environments created at the Service promote a sense of belonging, acceptance of diversity, and cultivates a sense of responsibility towards others and the planet. We value play and nature as contexts for learning and curate the environment to provide experiences for children to be curious and creative, take risks in their learning, ask questions, explore and learn from each other. Young children learn authentically through intentional experiences that are holistic in their design.
