HEY provides care for children aged 4 months to 5 years old.
There are 2 Long Day Care options available at HEY
Who can apply:
We take applications for children that are unborn through to 4 years old.
- Long Day Care for ages 4 months to 3 years – runs Monday to Friday
- Long Day Care Kindergarten: 3 and 4 year old Kindergarten programs – runs Monday to Friday

We currently have limited openings in our 3 & 4 year old Long Day Care Kindergarten rooms and would encourage applications in this age group.
How to apply for a position in Long Day Care
- We recommend you arrange a visit/tour to familiarise yourself with our Service, however it is not essential in order to go onto our waiting list. To arrange a visit/tour please contact us on (03) 9819 2326 (these usually run every Tuesday at 10.30am) however please make contact with us to register for the next tour.
- To create an application and pay the $100 one-off, non-refundable waitlist fee please follow the below instructions:
– Click Register via the My Family Lounge link to the right
– Enter your contact details
– Add your child/ren via the Add Child button
– Add a booking request via the New Request button
– Pay the $100 waitlist application fee via the Pay button under the payment section. (The once off fee is payable at time of application and your waitlist booking is not active until the fee has been paid. It is non-refundable, whether you receive a spot at Hawthorn Early Years or not).
Please note: Though you will be able to see a ‘start enrolment’ button, this leads to an enrolement form, which cannot be fully completed until a position has been offered.

Please note: due to priority of access and service priorities, we are unable to tell you what place you are in the list or how long the wait will be to secure a spot at Hawthorn Early Years. However the current trend indicates the waiting time for children under 3 years old for some families may be over 2 years to gain entry into Hawthorn Early Years.
