Classroom Overview
HEY cares and educates up to 155 children per day across 9 classrooms and takes care of each child based on their own needs, skills or talents.
A wide variety of educational programs
The building is designed to facilitate a range of educational programs and classroom ages can vary from year to year depending on the needs of HEY families. As the service has two distinct areas and a combination of programs the following titles are used to define learning areas; Junior Early Learners, Senior Early Learners & Sessional Kindergarten

Junior Early Learners
Our Junior Early Learners consists of Royal Bluebell, Cooktown Orchid, Kangaroo Paw, and Waratah classrooms who are supported by a designated Educational Leader who has a teaching qualification.
Our Junior Early Learners program is based on the Circle of Security which was introduced to HEY in 2016. The concept of Circle of Security is based around promoting secure attachments with children and families. By being attuned to the child’s needs, following their cues and working partnership, we are able to provide your child with an experience that is consistent and positive.

Senior Early Learners & Sessional Kindergarten
Our Senior Early Learners and Sessional Kindergarten Programs are based on providing challenging learning, thinking and development opportunities. The skills knowledge and dispositions required to navigate these challenges offer great insight into how each child approaches learning for life, whether within our sessional or long day care programs. Each teaching team develops a program that supports all learners.
All teaching teams in the Senior Early Learners and Sessional Kindergarten are led by qualified teachers in conjunction with a range of qualified and capable educators with a variety of qualifications from Degrees through to certificates in Early Childhood. Each team works together and draws from their strengths. This is what we call the HEY Teaching Team. All teaching teams at HEY engage the National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) as a foundation to their decision making in the design of the classroom program.
